In order to be successful in any court or tribunal, the parties must have proof of what they are alleging against each other. Many workplaces have documentation policies, which are extremely important when a legal dispute occurs.

While the law in the video is American, we have similar legislation here. Do you have a documentation policy (or does your progressive discipline policy include documentation expectations?)?

If you had to hand over an employee file to a lawyer, what would most likely be in it? Do you have an employee handbook? Why or why not?

What recommendations would you make to your employer for policy or training purposes? From a legal perspective, why is documentation important?
