This assignment is creative. I think you will enjoy it.
Assess your every day lives and explain something that "bothers" you - a minor inconvenience to daily life that would be nice to remedy. Make it something simple but whose remedy would be valuable. These are only examples of the kinds of things you might think of:
Do you dislike walking your dog in the rain?
Do you have to argue with the kids to eat their vegetables?
Does your saran cling to itself making it nearly impossible to cover the intended item?
Does your hair get wet in the shower even when you wear a shower cap?
Just remember to stay away from unrealistic problems that we can't solve in our class setting. Something like solving traffic tie-ups is too big a "bother". Think realistic and start off small. Think of something that you can provide a solution for that people would be willing and yearning to buy.
After you've identified a "bother", describe the remedy you would offer.
I've offered an example to give you the feel for what I am looking for. You want to give me three similar "bothers" and their possible solutions. Please don't be brief. You need to explain clearly what the problem is and how your remedy will solve the problem. That means the solution has to be do-able by you, explainable and realistic.
For example:
Bother 1: My infant has this great new toy that she absolutely adores. The problem is I want to keep the many parts of this toy together and within easy grasp. I don't want it in the stroller with her as it will quickly wear out the fascination it holds for her. How can I have it readily available for those "emergency moments" but not in sight or in the way of her stroller.
Solution 1: My solution would be to create a really sturdy rubber band that would allow be to wrap all the parts together. The extra value the product would provide is that it would have a hook attached to it. This way I could hang the toy on the back side of her stroller out of sight but within easy reach. It would keep all the parts together but hang as one well-contained item. I would spend some time to research the material to make it out of to ensure it is child safe, and that it will wear well and not disintegrate as easily as rubber bands do.
