A similar movement is the effort to expunge the records of minor, non-violent, first criminal convictions in order to give those job applicants with these past crimes a better chance at job interviews. An example is the Second Chance program of the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland for the poor. This particularly affects African Americans with drug arrests. A notable example is occurring in those states and cities that have legalized marijuana. Cities like San Francisco, California and Seattle, Washington have begun this expungement process (for marijuana use, not for sales) not just in the future but also retroactively. Do you agree with such expungement of criminal records efforts?
