The CEO of Starbucks announced the expansion of the company's matrix structure in order to improve customer satisfaction. The company will now operate in the United States under four divisions: Western/Pacific, Northwest/Mountain, Southeast/Plains, and Northeast/Atlantic. Starbucks believes that with the new organizational structure, it will be able to develop products faster and with more appeal to customers. A second phase of the Starbucks organizational restructuring is the creation of centralized support functions that will help the United States and inter-national divisions"
