Workplace Administration Skills Assessment Method
Do you agree or disagree with the answer and why?
This Workplace Administration Skills Assessment was designed for General and Operation Managers, Human Resources Managers, and Administrative Services Managers. I chose this assessment to get some insight into what would employers use to hire someone for a Human Resources Manager position. Furthermore, the benefits of using this assessment for employers would be to see who has the qualities necessary for the job, like the ability to properly maintain data, perform simple tasks on the computer, and resolve administrative issues. The assessment makes the decision-making process easier for employers to hire individuals for specific roles related to the assessment because employers can use the assessment as one of the criteria in the hiring process. THE KSAOs measured in the Workplace Administration Skills Assessment are information gathering from multiple sources, basic use of a computer, MS Office, office equipment, effective communication with internal stakeholders, organizing and planning administrative activities, and workplace organization. The KSAOs are measured and calculated into an overall score based on organizing and planning, effective communication, attention to detail, and computer awareness. There is no specific technology used in this assessment, but I can see how they may administer the assessment through a computer. Specifically, the assessment is an 18-question multiple choice CTT where individuals are given 15 minutes to complete the questions based on workplace administration skills.
Additionally, I think that assessments in general are very useful since they can provide insight into the candidates for the position. Specifically, I think that the Workplace Administration Skills assessment is useful and appropriate because it gauges an individual's knowledge and skills of the position and job they are interested in acquiring. Although the assessment is not the sole criterion for employers, it is an important one, so if an individual does score well it is fair to assume that they might not possess what is necessary for the job. I would not assess the important KSAOs for the referent job level differently. I would still use the assessment tool to get some insight into their knowledge and skills and also offer an interview where I can get further insight into how they have applied the important skills and knowledge in their work and life experience.
