Assignment:
Ethics of Credit Checks for Hiring
Some companies choose to use credit checks as a tool for assessing job candidates. This is somewhat controversial. Give your *researched* opinions on the following questions:
1. Is it ethical for employers to use credit checks during the hiring process to assess candidates?
2. Do credit reports contain valuable information for an employer? What hiring decisions could reasonably be based on this information?
3. Develop an example of an interview question that could be used to screen for ethics. Your interview question should be in the form of a hypothetical ethical scenario.
*Remember, these types of interview questions should not have an easy answer. The goal is to reveal the interviewee's thought process and ethical reasoning.
