In Chapter 1, we learned that Morality and Legality are not always the same. While ideally the two should synchronize, we often find that they do not. When discussing the implications of dumping in case study 1.1 for example, there are instances in which dumping might be technically legal, but is this a morally acceptable practice? Read case study 1.1 and discuss the Morality of dumping. As you do, think about some of the ethical theories that we learned about in Chapter 1, and discuss how this practice might be perceived in light of those theories. For example, how might an Ethical Relativist view such a practice vs. a subscriber to Divine Command Theory?
