One of the biggest changes organizations have made over the past five years is the creation of the DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) Department (including the hiring of managers and staff to oversee the newest department). As with most "fads," DEI roles and departments are now rapidly disappearing. WHY? What was the initial reason(s) why organizations created this department and hired people to manage the department? Who will be responsible for handling DEI issues going forward? Another thought? Who handled DEI issues before DEI departments were created? If there is no DEI Manager, does this mean that future DEI initiatives won't be achieved? Speaking of achievement - How does one measure the effectiveness of DEI initiatives?
