1. If traditional grading scale is used (90 or more is an A, 80-89 is a B, etc.), find students that will have A's, B's, C's, D's and F's?
2. Instructor considers grading on a curve. Grades are to be distributed according to following criteria: Top 5% of students will get A's, 20% will get B's, 50% will get C's, 20% will get D's and bottom 5% of students will get F's. Determine cut-off scores for the grades of an A, B, C, D, and F.
3. Under new grading scale, how many students will have A's, B's, C's, D's and F's?
4. Do you beleive the instructor must grade on a curve? Explain why or why not?
5. Grading on curve requires that distribution is normally distributed.
6. Was instructor correct to attempt using normal curve?
