Anthocyanin is a reddish-purple pigment fond in the tissues of some plants. The production of this pigment is under the control of two genes. The dominant allele R, of the R gene codes for enzyme 1 that converts a white precursor substance to a white intermediate substance. The dominate allele A, of the A gene codes for enzyme 2 that converts the white intermediate into the purple pigment anthocyanin. The recessive alleles of both of these genes (r and a) cofe for verision of their respective enzymes that cannot bind to their substrates. The biochemical pathway looks like this- and it is not possible to distinguish between one white phentype and any other phenotype.White precursor-----enzyme 1----white intermediate-----enzyme 2-----anthocyanin ( purple pigment)a.) cross two purple plants both of which are heterozygous for both genes b.) shoe punnent sqaure for the dihybrid cross c.) show and carefully labeled and explanined phenotypic ratio for the offspring of this cross. d.) brieftly explain the type of inheritance patter of which this is an example
