In 1950, Michael and Albina Klos purchased a lot from the Molenda family, who continued to live right next door. Rather than survey the property, the buyers and sellers paced off the lot and placed stakes in the ground as boundary markers. After Mr. Molenda's death in 1983, his widow hired a surveyor to deter- mine the exact property line. The property line turned out to be thirty inches closer to the Kloses' house. Mrs. Molenda immediately dug up thirty inches of the Kloses' grass and erected a fence on the true prop- erty line. Should the court require dismantling of the fence and award ownership of the thirty-inch strip to the Kloses? [Klos v. Molenda, 355 Pa. Super. 399, 513 A.2d 490 (Perm., 1986).]
