Polypharmacy is a growing problem, especially for our elderly population. It happens when a patient has multiple disease states that are being treated with multiple medications. A patient may end up on 10 or more medications...Based on what you've learned this module, what potential problems could polypharmacy create? Be specific...as we get older, what organs slow down and how might this affect the ADME process we learned about earlier in the module? What about drug interactions? What about memory/cognitive issues that could cause the patient to struggle with remembering if they took their medication or not?
