Psychological First Aid & Psychological Triage

Each class participant will critically evaluate a crisis event scenario and apply the psychological first aid checklist (i.e., PFA Core Actions) to the event scenario.
You may develop a short crisis scenario, pull a scenario from the readings, or consider an event you've seen in the media. I recommend against using an event you have experienceddirectly.
Next, walk us through, step-by-step, in applying the PFA Core Action steps to the scenario you developed. It will be important to consider any nuances that may have come up as part of the event. You may also consider the screener in this week's module.
Be sure to answer the following questions:

Which students and/or staff members will need to be seen immediately? Justify.

Which students and/or staff members will need to be seen as soon as possible, but not right away? Justify.

Which students and/or staff may not need to be provided crisis intervention at all? Justify.
