Case

In her position as an Air Force procurement officer, Darlene Druyun sometimes awards defense contracts to Boeing, Inc. Druyun's daughter, Heather Druyun, and son-in-law, Ryan Scott, both lost their jobs when their company down-sized. They have been unsuccessful in finding new employment and will soon lose their unemployment benefits. Because Ms. Darlene Druyun is desperate to help them resolve their financial problems, she contacts several Boeing managers that she has become acquainted with through her job. She inquires about employment opportunities for her daughter and son-in-law at Boeing and indicates that she will look favorably on the company if they are hired. Discuss the ethical issues by using the guidelines stated above.
