Report Requirements:

Key points for grading (general):

(1) level of understanding of the numerical solutions of this engineering problem;

(2) discussion of the numerical solutions and properties of various numerical methods; and

(3) presentation and discussion of results.

While the problem has been formulated in a straightforward manner, there are substantial computations involved in this problem. Be sure to start your work as early as possible.

Turn in individual reports. Your report should be typed and written in a concise, professional format (in other words, your report should NOT appear as answering questions). Your report should have sections of: abstract, introduction, problem description, numerical solutions, discussion, etc. as appropriate.

There is no requirement on the length of the report. The key is to demonstrate your understanding, problem formulation, and computational solution to this engineering problem. In your report, include the MATLAB codes with all relevant graphs and illustrations to support your results, discussion, and conclusion. Presentation style (clarity, etc.) is a major component of a report. A sample report format can be found at the course web site.

You are welcome to discuss with the instructor and with your classmates, but you must develop your own computer codes, solutions, and submit your own report. File name should be '11E2500_20901 P1 LastName". Either WORD or pdf document submission is acceptable for online grading. Everything that we need to grade must be in the report. Also submit all the m-files (which should be properly named) that you have used in generating the solutions. A draft report (complete at least parts (a) and (b)) is due 22 to allow us to assess your progress. If this draft report is not submitted by the due date, the score of the entire report will be zero. All computer codes must be properly commented. You will be given zero point for the entire project if no comments are provided.
