Stakeholder Management processes play the role of interest and enthusiasm the stakeholder will have in the project. If done properly, the Stakeholders will be very supportive of whatever it takes to make the project a success.

This point is illustrated in an article by Bourne (2015) as follows "Developing an effective PR campaign is a skilled communications process designed to build buy-in and enthusiasm for the project and its deliverables" I feel that effective communication with Stakeholders will also prevent them from any apprehension they may have about the status of the project.

For example, the project sponsor may be very worried about where his or her money is going and how it being budgeted. Providing reports and communication effectivily through other channel, such as email, will help to assure the sponsor that everything is OK. Thus, the continued financial support for the project will be assured.

Project status, issues, and accomplishment information is shared in many ways. One way is through direct, face-to-face communication. I believe that this way of communication is used less and less in todays technology-driven world.

However, if team members communicate this way, I believe that project issues can be discussed in a more effective way they other types of communication. Other types would be through email, phone conversations and memos. Whereas those types of communication are valuable for letting people in the project know about important things such at the status and accomplishments of the team, there may me loss of communication ques, such as body language, to help solve project issues.

Those communication ques are valuable in team communication when something goes wrong a project and the Project Manager must try to de-escalate a potentially volatile situation. In-person communication, can help a team and the Project Manager in this case. The Project manager can support team members with empathy and compassion through listening to team members and, in doing that, get people to work harder toward working on the project objectives (Bissonette, 2016).

There are several types of information that are shared through documents. One example is the Project Scope Statement. This is a document that is very detailed for good reason.

This is because there are so many parts of the statement that included so much information. These are The Business Case, Objectives, Deliverables, Acceptance Criteria, Exclusions and Technology (Feldsher, 2016). Other types of information that can shared through documents on a project are outlined are the Stakeholder Register and Communications Management Plan (PMBOK, 2013). The Stakeholder register is a document that "is used to identify stakeholders who can provide information on the requirements.

The stakeholder register also captures major requirements and main expectations stakeholders may have for the project." PMBOK, 2013. The Communications Management plan is an important document because it makes sure that all the aspects of the project, such as planning, management and timing are outlined (PMBOK, 2013).

As discussed earlier, nonverbal communication is not as common with the technological advance of today and e-mail affected the efficiency and effectiveness of project communications. Email is an effortless way to communicate as it does not require face-to-face interaction.

It also does not require the people communicating to be available at the time the email is sent as they can always read it at a more convenient time.

However, the message received in the email may not be entirely clear and can be misunderstood as there are no verbal cues to go by as stated in an article by Sivasankari (2010) "The communications process is rarely "clean," meaning that what the recipient receives may not be necessarily what the sender sent."

There are factors in the receiver, such as beliefs and values that can influence how the email is perceived (Sivasankari, 2010). I think emails should be used for routine communications such as a budget report or scheduling adjustment, but more complex communications can be misunderstood in an Email.

Social networking has affected the efficiency and effectiveness of project communications. It has had a positive impact in these areas. One way is that it has added resources that the Project Manager would not have had before the advent of Social Media technology.

For example, the Project Manager can now employ the "use of social networks allow collaborative contributions from individuals outside the team, most likely potential customers, so it will be possible to know their degree of satisfaction with the product before releasing it to the market." (ITM Platform, 2016).

I think the biggest takeaway from this the interaction with the customer. This takes the guesswork out of figuring out the needs of the end user. With this help, there will be a much better chance at success.
