Assignment: The project will consist of 2 elements - a hands on portion where you will build a number of servers or other devices in virtualization, and a report that details what you did for your project. The report should be no more than 5 - 8 pages long and include important screen shots and narrative that show what you did with your project, it's operation.

The hands-on portion of the project should be done in local virtualization using a product like Virtual Box. You may use other virtualization services if you wish, however Virtual Box is a no-cost solution that works well for most instances. You may use any distribution of Linux that you feel comfortable with. Please make sure that you do not advertise services publicly that might violate your ISP's rules (DNS, etc).

Your project must incorporate the following features:

i. A installation of Linux

ii. A functional web server (Apache)

iii. An integrated DMBS (either MySQL or MariaDB)

iv. PHP integrating the DBMS and web server

Your report should show that the items listed are functional. For instance, you could have a screen shot of a web browser accessing the web page to show Apache functionality. For the DBMS, you could load the test database from MySQL and show commands being executed to show that it is functional. Finally, the PHP installation comes with a test page. Taking a screen shot of the correct output from this should be included in your report.

As stated earlier, the report should be 5-8 pages that document what you've done, shows that the objectives have been reached and highlights any problems that you had an solutions or mitagation to the problem. The report should be in MS Word format only (.docx). Any academic format is acceptable. It must include narrative; screen shots alone are not sufficient.
