This week, we are discussing stereotypes regarding the elderly population.  These stereotypes go both ways, and we see it constantly in today's society (look at the "Boomer," "Gen X," "Gen Z," "Millennials" arguments on social medial).  Unfortunately, you will encounter many of these stereotypes while working in healthcare.

I will break the discussion into two parts to answer on two separate days, and I'll add an additional question on Wednesday.  Please be detailed with your answers. 

  • Part 1: What are some of the myths you've heard related to our geriatric population?
  • Part 2: What are YOUR personal thoughts about these beliefs on aging?
