Assignment Description

Prepare a 3-4-minute presentation in which you explain one of the philosophers we have discussed in this course to an uninitiated audience.

Assignment Requirements

Your presentation should include the following:

Presenting a brief biography, situating the thinker in his/her political and philosophical climate.

This should include discussing philosophical inspirations, especially when your thinker is directly responding to someone (Kant responds to Simone de Beauvoir, etc.)

Connecting the major ideas of this thinker to one or more of the readings for the class.

What did this philosopher think about metaphysics/epistemology/ethics?
How did these thoughts change the Great Conversation of philosophy?

5 - 6 slide PowerPoint includes:

Quotes from a works
Major ideas of the thinker in outline (not paragraph) form
Reference slide in APA styleLinks to an external site.
