In this activity, you'll be learning more about the intersection between genetic traits and evolution. In discussing human behaviour and development, it's important to contextualise traits within our evolutionary lineage; traits that appear deficient or unsuited for the modern world are theorised to have served a purpose in earlier, prehistoric eras. This activity will help with the following learning outcome:
LO1: Demonstrate an understanding of biological, sociological and psychological factors and the influence they have on the human development across the lifespan
Drawing upon the article and your own research, explain in 300-350 words how one certain trait - nausea, fatigue, anxiety, emotional disorders etc - may have been useful in specific situations over the course of human evolution, despite being seen as a disadvantageous trait in the modern day.
Post your findings into the forum below by pressing 'Add New Discussion Topic' by the end of week 3.
Respond to another student's post with your own considered and constructive thoughts in order to complete this task.
