This coursework does an excellent job of explaining Ephesians 4:3-7, 11-16 as it applies to systems. However, this scripture passage is not the only one that serves to shape our perspective on systems operation. Romans 12:3-8 discusses the diversity of a system, the diversity of the Body of Christ. "For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually members one of another" (ESV, 2001/2016, Romans 12:4-5). As Paul explains in these passages, we as the Body of Christ and as a system of educators, are different but we are united as one in Christ and in our purpose as educators. Paul highlights the importance our differences, but he explains the key to being unified in verse 3, "For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgement..." (ESV, 2001/2016, Romans 12:3). Paul is telling us that the key to unity is humility!

In discussing an effective system of governance, Becker et al. (2023) display the necessity of humility by stating, "An effective system consists of many inputs derived from its stakeholders. The transformation process (or deliberation) takes into consideration the inputs from the stakeholders and yields outputs (the decisions)" (p.29).
