In Chapter, at the medical-staff reception, Dr. Flagg discusses corporate medicine with Wes. Dr. Flagg expresses feelings of betrayal because of corporate medicine. He feels HMOs and ACOs shifted risk to the physicians and hospitals to earn profits, all while keeping close tabs on how the physicians practiced medicine.
