ASSIGNMENT:

Cancer and heart disease kill more people in the U.S. than other diseases. Did you know that MEDICAL ERRORS are 3rd on this list, ahead of deaths from car accidents and diabetes? These medical errors caused harm that led to the patient's' death.

This statistic is alarming because most medical errors are preventable. As healthcare facilities work diligently to reduce the number of medical errors, there are still areas that can be addressed that would assist with this initiative.

For your initial post, do the following:

1. Locate an article that discusses a medical error within a healthcare facility. Provide details about the error, the patient's outcome in that situation, and what steps were taken to reduce errors in this facility.

2. Conduct research and give your opinion on how computers and the adoption of EHR made medical errors more or less common. Provide detailed examples along with what site your research of this topic came from.
