Question: On Writing is the first book Stephen King published after his accident in 1999. In the final portion of the book, we see a King who has just survived a horrific experience and returns to writing because he needs to, not because he simply wants to. This need is not influenced by money or deadlines, but a need for an outlet to express. King explains that "[w]riting is magic, as much the water of life as any other creative art. The water is free. So drink. Drink and be filled up" (270). I want you to consider the outlet you have that completely fulfills your need for expression. It may not be writing for you-it may be art, a specific activity, or music. In other words, what never fails to allow you to feel completely you? Discuss your experiences through telling us a story. As with week 1, do not take an informative approach, but rather let the narrative drive your response. You do not need to explicitly tell me your passion--feel free to do some implicitly through your story.
