39 y/o male. 6ft 200 lbs (mesomorph)
Chief complaint: intermittent "heart burn"
Social history: No history of smoking or drinking. Exercise 3-4 times a week mainly strengthening exercises. Reports eating healthy and only having 1 cup of coffee in the mornings
He had an endoscopy performed last year which was negative for adenocarcinoma or Barret's esophagus but showed mild inflammation of the esophagus and was diagnosed with GERD.
He wants to discuss with you conservative approaches (not pharmacological) to help him with his condition
Question 1) List at least three relevant questions that you would like to ask your patient to know more about his condition.
Question 2) Using one or more research articles, discuss with your patient behavioral changes / conservative treatment (not pharmacological) to help him manage his condition.
By the way, he is well aware of possible complications of GERD
