Culture and Globalization.
Research how culture change has influenced a particular indigenous or ethnic minority culture. By indigenous we mean the original or first peoples to occupy that territory (any Native American group; tribal peoples such as the Maasai, Ju/oansi, or Nuer). By ethnic minority culture, we mean any culture that is not part of the dominant group (for example - Kurds in Turkey, Basques in Spain, Roma in Eastern Europe, Uighurs in China, Ainu in Japan, or the Nayar in India). Be sure to use credible sources such as academic journal articles or reputable websites (Wikipedia is not reputable):
1. Basic information about the group such as what are they called, their location, traditional way of life (such as their subsistence strategy, kinship, or political system), and something about their cultural values (this could be about language, art, games, religion, or gender relations for example).
2. Give a detailed example of how this group's culture or way of life has changed because of globalization.
3. Discuss whether this change has been mostly positive or negative (health/illness, tourism, capitalism, cultural heritage, and the environment).
4. Provide a reference for at least one credible source. Do not just include the URL but provide an actual reference.
