Watch a 30-minute national news broadcast (i.e. NBC Nightly News, ABC World News, Fox Media, CBS Evening News) and document the types of news stories reported and any data that is mentioned. Pay close attention while watching to document the precise numbers reported and provide a context for that data.

Please choose one of the options below:

(1) Post the information you collected from the broadcast and discuss what you generally think about the news media's different ways of reporting data - from reading newspapers and watching the news. Were you convinced? Make a post of your own of at least 250 words.

(2) Post the information you collected from the broadcast and make a VIDEO response explaining whether you were convinced by the data used to support the information presented or not. Be creative in your video response. Include a link or attach the video in your initial post. Video responses should be 3-5 minutes. You can use your phone to make the video or your computer using the free tool Screencast-o-matic.
