Assignment: You are a human resource director for the Sean MacDonald Veterinary Hospital in Winnipeg. Historically, salaries provided by the cheap owner have been near minimum wage. The morale is low and attrition is high. Retention of employees has been a problem. Overall evaluation of job performance has not occurred.

You are asked to develop a total compensation package, which would enable veterinary assistants, receptionists, and facility cleaners to stay with the company. Using materials considered throughout the course, discuss what strategies you would and would not use to address this situation and any other problems in the company. It is expected you provide a compensation package for each position.

2. You have been asked to train new sales staff at a dry cleaning store in Winnipeg. The management wants to ensure all employees are aware of the need for customer service, new Covid -19 operating procedures, and a respectful workplace culture. Provide a report that lists and explains each step in the process which the store should undertake to set up this training. Justify each step in the process.

3. You have been asked to recruit and select a new bass guitar player at the Palomino Club. (A terrific Winnipeg bar). The Palomino Club has a band which performs most nights (often called a "house band). The Club requires a bass guitar player who will appeal to their mature yet hip target market. Provide a detailed report that lists step by step the process by which the Club should undertake to fill the bass guitar player position. You are expected to explain why you are suggesting each step in the process. Diversity is encouraged.

Discuss the above statement with respect to human resources topics. Specifically address the subjects of staffing, training, total compensation, safety, and jod design in your discussion. Where you anticipate organizations must adapt and reconsider their processes whenever they return to the new way of conducting work? Be detailed and organized in your report. Use headings and multiple human recourse concepts.

5. You are a human resource director for an upstart company that uses an online driving application company (It would be like Uber in its early days). Lately, staff has complained that one of the senior managers has been making inappropriate comments to female employees.

Other concerns are that the new staff do not integrate well with existing employees. Many are having trouble understanding and working with some of the new software used to manage inventory. Management is not certain on the best way to evaluate employee job performance. There is great dissatisfaction with the quality of the drivers they have hired.

Concerns have reached the stage where you have heard rumors through the "grapevine" that some employees want to unionize. In a well-organized report use, materials considered throughout the course to discuss what strategies you would and would not use to address this situation.
