Assignment:

As we dive into our study of Criminal Law and what actually constitutes a crime, we need to take a look at what the criminal justice system has long referred to as "victimless crimes."

Based on your reading and research, make a laundry list of "crimes" that would arguably fall into that category. Make persuasive arguments ( with substantial support) as to whether there IS SUCH A THING as a victimless crime or if this list of crimes does have a victim ( or victims).

If you determine that these crimes (or some of them) ARE without specific victims, would you advocate for the decriminalization of them? Why or why not? What would be the benefit of abolishing those statutes? Would there by a detriment or disadvantage to doing so?

Feel free to discuss any and all crimes within your list of "victimless" crimes.... but also specifically discuss the status of prostitution and personal drug usage as victimless crimes? Are they - why or why not? Justify your position.
