Assignment:
Ageism (i.e., stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination against older individuals) has been shown to have negative effects on both young and old adults. To reduce ageism, several studies have recognised the importance of facilitating interactions between young and old employees at work.
In a recent cross-sectional study on Danish working adults, researchers examined the association between age-based attitudes in the workplace and self-perceived ageing, work engagement and the intention to leave. They found that adults who work in an inclusive organisation without ageism tend to view their ageing more favourably, are more engaged at work, and are less likely to leave their jobs.
