Science Meets Real Life
Humans are naturally inquisitive and have always asked questions about the world around them. Many questions could not be answered due to a lack of available technology, but many others could be answered through the process of trial and error. Over time, the way humans ask and answer questions about the natural world was developed and shaped into what is now called the scientific method. It allows scientists to conduct research in a systematic, organized fashion.
Scientists often collaborate with other scientists from around the world in using the scientific method to make these scientific discoveries and to develop new technologies. This can involve scientists working with people from different countries, religions, and cultural beliefs. You likely depend on many of these technologies and scientific discoveries to make your modern life possible. You will evaluate one of these technologies as well as a scientific discovery that is part of your personal and/or professional life. You will also broaden your scope by looking at the benefits and challenges scientists may experience when working in multicultural environments in order to advance society and scientific knowledge.
