Dr. Faust, chairman of the department at the university has assigned Stanely to head up the project that was being conducted. Dr. Faust was even ecstatic enough to hold a meeting to express to higher management that Stanely is an exemplary employee, young and of a higher caliber. As Stanely began to spearhead this project, it was intended to be hands-off with progress reports being given to them one to two times a year. A generous budget was awarded and he would have Faust as a consultant. Eight months in it comes to a point where there is a fallout between the two as Dr.Faust demands that the project has to start to show a product for New York, but come to a disagreement as the project was intended to not show any products for a couple of years. Dr. Faust was quick to express that his reputation was on the line even though Stanely was willing to put his job on the line too. Having an egotistic view that Faust's reputation is more important than Stanely's job.
