In this assessment activity, you are required to participate in a role play with fellow students. Students will take the following roles:

Community service practitioner
WHS officer

Scenario

In this scenario, you are acting as a community service practitioner. You are required to discuss the work health and safety guidelines and outcomes of a workplace risk assessment, including risk controls and measures developed as part of the risk assessment process with the WHS officer. The role of the WHS officer will be played by another student.

Time-limit on roleplay:

Five minutes (Make sure It's a short role play and not a show)

Requirements

1. Discuss what has happened? Either act it out or describe out loud what has happened.

2. Discuss the workplace risk assessment plan completed as part of the assessment task 2.

3. Look back over your risk assessment activities and analysis you completed and discuss the following:

4. Discuss how the problem and hazard should be solved.

Does the person involved need first aid?
Do you require assistance with this problem?

5. Discuss the need of following appropriate WHS protocols and fixing the faulty equipment on time.

6. Discuss do you need to fill out any of forms?

7. Discuss why workers should be given opportunity to contribute feedback on health and safety issues

8. How to monitor the processes for ensuring that workers have an opportunity to contribute feedback on health and safety issues

9. Discuss the level of stress/fatigue.

10. Confirm from the student who is playing the role of WHS officer that he understands the requirement of complying with the work health and safety guidelines and outcomes of the workplace risk assessment, including risk controls and measures developed as part of the risk assessment process.
