Select a community in your town or city with 3 or more vulnerable populations to which you have easy access. You will choose 1 of those vulnerable populations and evaluate it throughout the course. The community must be one that will expose you to individuals with diverse life experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds. Within the community, you will need to identify an agency or organization that serves the vulnerable population. You will be visiting this agency for your (interview) and (delivery of education) assignments. Note: Interview and intervention cannot be completed virtually.
1) Some examples of a vulnerable population are related to the following:
a. Race or ethnicity
b. Socioeconomic status
c. Geography
d. Gender
e. Age (Students are required to work with individuals aged 18 years or older.)
f. Disability status
g. Risk status related to sex and gender
2) Other populations at risk include the following:
a. Cancer survivors
b. Immigrants and refugees
c. Incarcerated men and women
d. Persons who use drugs (PWUD)
e. Pregnant women
f. Veterans
3) Examples of some of the agencies that may be found in the community are as follows:
a. Support groups
b. Homeless shelters
c. Community food banks
d. Community centers
e. Nursing homes
f. Women's shelters
g. Veterans' groups

1) Briefly discuss the 3 vulnerable populations within your chosen community.
2) Identify your 1 chosen vulnerable population in the Discussion Post, including the rationale for choosing this population and identified community. Be sure to include the city or town, county, and state. Get the instant assignment help.
