Last year New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg suceeded in passing a ban on super-sized soft drinks in NYC. The day before it was to become effective in March a court issued an injuction preventing implementation. The city has appealed. And efforts continue in other cities for similar action. Assume you work for an organization that may be impacted by this nonmarket action (soft drink maker, restaurant assoc., etc) and have a seat at the table as the organization discusses its reaction (strategy) to these proposals by Mayor Bloomberg and those being considered in other areas. Discuss the various interests and interest groups that must be considered. What is your advice for the best course(s) of action for the organization to take? Explain.
