Question: In supplemental video #2 you have a narrative about how one traffic stop with a difficult driver and a video with a similar situation. Answer all questions!

200-500 words!

APA format and reference!

1. Discuss the two different paths taken by officers. In one, the violator was arrested (with a very bad outcome) in the other the violator was cited. Were the options legal examples of discretion?

2. The officer in the article discussed that he probably would have not cited the violator if there was not an attitude issue. Do you think attitude should be part of discretionary decision making? Can you think of another reason the citation might have been issued?

3. Most officers will tell you that stress in the field is easy to cope with. The violator in the narrative (not the video) ignored the officer and continued to talk on the phone. One of the calls was to file a false report of an assault and then eventually take the citation to court. How would this affect an officer in future contacts?
