Question: Assignment 2: Planning a Website
Some professionals believe that the planning phase of developing a website takes too much time and leaves little time for execution, which is more important. A good plan makes the website development much easier, so it is better to take your time and identify all the components of the website during the planning phase itself. However, clients often change their requirements once they begin to see the finished product; so clients feel that it's better to start the execution without too much time being spent on planning.
In this assignment, you will focus on the planning phase of a website being developed by you. You will gather requirements and specifications of your website and develop a site map. In addition, you will decide on the navigation structure, the layout, and the look and feel of your website. It is much easier to make these decisions prior to starting the development process of the website.
Tasks: Create a 2- to 3-page web proposal outlining your plan for developing your website from start to finish. Be as detailed as possible. Your proposal should include the following details:
- Purpose of the website
- Target audience
- Navigation structure
- Color scheme and images
- Site map or layout
- Support your statements with appropriate examples and scholarly references.
