Assignment:

Select a physical feature of importance in your country of interest and discuss its relevance to the socio-economic dynamics of the country.

The selected physical feature could be natural, for example a Lake, Mountain, etc or man- made e.g., dam, building etc. The selected feature MUST be relevant to the topics treated in the course. Provide a map to illustrate the physical location of the feature. You may use pictures acquired online but the source(s) of the map/picture must be appropriately cited.

Describe the historical, economic, social and political significance of the feature to the country/area in which it is located. Grading will be based on both the map presented and the accompanying analysis.

This assignment highlights thenexus between the environment and development and enhances students understanding of the relationship between physical featuresof the environment and human processes and interactions about Brazil.
