Discusses the six concepts of law. Discusses the six concepts of law. Law, of course, creates the very basis of criminal justice, but yet there seems to be two different perspectives, paradigms almost, about the basis of law: the idealists' perspective and the pragmatists' perspective.

The idealists' perspective is heavily focused on morality as the basis of law for a society. Morality, as we know, is defined differently by individuals and whole communities.

Should morality be a basis of our current criminal codes? Discuss why or why not.

If not, how do convince the general public that removing morality is in their best interests and will provide better public safety. If yes, how do we best integrate our beliefs, morals, and cultures so there is more alignment and compliance with the criminal code?
