Assignment:
Hi, im hoping I can get some help with my assignment in political sciences. This is the outline.
Topic: Choose any country in the world other than Canada and write an op-ed explaining an important reform that happened in that country within the past 12 months.
Examples: electoral reform, judicial reform, welfare state reform (e.g., pensions, education, or healthcare), constitutional reforms, reforms on social issues (LGTQ+ rights, abortion, same-sex marriage, etc.), tax reform, labor market reforms, anti-corruption reforms, immigration reforms, police reform, digital/media reform, etc.
So far a topic I have in mind is the South Africa electoral amendment act in 2023. However, I can't find databases that have scholary journals on this, or any academic articles in general that talk about it to cite my sources. I also am unsure of what to talk about on the topic when it comes to writing the OP-ED itself -- if I say this op ed will discuss the SA electoral amendment act, then what? I don't know what to argue about it.
Lastly, I am wondering if there might be a simpler topic I can choose that will be guaranteed to have sources that can be easily found; I want a topic that is easy to talk about for an easy A, but I just cannot seem to land on one, as a lot of the ones I have looked into are countries that have plans for reforms, but no reforms that have physically been implemented yet. I am hoping to find a bill that has been implemented that I can easily contradict / create a clear argument about.
Please help.
