The aim of this assignment is to help you understand the impact of social structures and cultural norms on everyday interactions.

Description: Choose a public space such as a park, cafe, or shopping mall. Spend at least two hours observing the people in this space. Pay attention to social interactions, body language, and other non-verbal cues. Look for examples of conformity, deviance, social roles, norms, and values. Be aware of cultural diversity and how it affects social interactions.

Report your observations. Identify what you believe to be social norms and how individuals either conform to or deviate from these norms. Explain how culture might affect these interactions. Also, analyze the observed instances from a sociological perspective.

The aim of this assignment is to understand how media contributes to socialization and perpetuates cultural norms and societal expectations.

Description: Select a popular movie, TV show, or series of advertisements that reflect cultural norms and values. Watch critically, taking notes on instances of socialization, gender roles, norms, values, and how these may change over the life course.
