Trends, Issues, and Managerial Aspects of Recreational Therapy
PAPER: RESEARCH ABSTRACT -
Locate one research study that has been published in the Therapeutic Recreation Journal, American Journal of Recreation Therapy, or Annual in Therapeutic Recreation within the last five years. This article must include a study that involved a recreational therapy intervention. Make sure to receive approval for the article from the instructor before you start your paper.
Your paper will include the following:
A one (1) page (no more than one page), one paragraph abstract - This section should be written in YOUR own words. Your charge will write the abstract in a manner that is professional yet in a way that anyone would understand what the researchers looked for and what they found. I suggest that you look at a variety of examples before writing this abstract.
(a) Cover page - Include your full name, panthersoft ID, the reference citation of the article in APA (2)
(b) Purpose of the study (3)
(c) Guiding theory (If provided. If it is not provided indicate that the authors did not provide a theory.) (3)
(d) Research design (e.g., single subject; pre-test post test, etc.) (Do not hesitate to look up examples so you understand what this means) (3)
(e) Procedures (How was the intervention implemented?) (3)
(f) Findings (What did the researchers find as a result of the intervention? Did it work?) (3)
(g) How can the findings be applied to recreational therapy practice? (3)
