Federal health care system (Obama Care) and IT outsourcing to India: The Federal Health care system (Obama Care) has resulted in companies outsourcing work, such as claim processing, to India. IT had made this possible and seamless between the health care provider and the Indian company hired to process information. You are a middle manager for a health care provider that has to process millions of health care claims this year, a 200% increase over last year due to the new government programs. You have been tasked with coming up with a business and technology plan to handle the increase. Your boss has asked you to consider outsourcing work to India like a competitor does. She would like a recommendation by the end of the week. This isn't to let staff go you are told, rather, to supplement staffing levels. You have security concerns and wonder if this could lead to staff cuts of your team. You are also concerned about keeping your job if you can't handle the increase in claims that need to be processed.
