Problem: Discuss 2-3 considerations around misdiagnosis and the perpetuation of stigma and bias that a social worker would need to address in their diagnostic formulation for the selected disorder (consider the Cultural Formulation Interview, stigma, and/or cultural concepts of distress, etc.). Discuss the process of differential diagnosis by identifying two other clinical disorders that share similar symptoms. What criterion would you use to differentiate between the two disorders and the disorder you selected? Identify the prevalence rates for the clinical disorder you have selected, including prevalence rates for at least two of the following groups: gender identity, gender expression, race, ethnicity, social economic status, differently a bled or sexual orientation. Please search for up-to-date statistics (within the last 2-3 years). Discuss the ways in which this disorder could impact an individual's social functioning (home, school, work, family, and relationships). If you were working with a client with this clinical diagnosis, discuss two assessment measures you could employ and why. Identify at least two interventions, one psychosocial and one psychopharmacological, used to treat this disorder. If a psychopharmacological is not indicated explain why and what other intervention would be applicable. Discuss the side effects of the psychopharmacological interventions and its importance to assessment.
