Question: The Texas Legislature meets every two years.  The 88th Legislature just finished its session and special sessions (1 and 2) where they passed thousands of pieces of legislation. Research at least four bills that passed the 88th Legislative Session (in Texas) and were signed into law by the governor. 

  1. Talk about the subject of the bill;
  2. Who sponsored and wrote the legislation you chose and why;
  3. What are the implications of the legislation (i.e. who will it affect, how will Texans be affected, when does it go into effect, etc.);
  4. Discuss which executive and bureaucratic agencies will be responsible for implementation of said policy (if any) if passed;
  5. Discuss the partisanship of the legislation (which political party supports/opposes the legislation and why);
  6. Discuss whether support or oppose the bill and explain why; and
  7. Include any interesting tid-bits!
