Your company was hired to restore a home originally built in the early 1970's. The task is to deconstruct the two-storey home down to the studs. Once complete you will renovate the entire home: roof, windows, siding, facia and eaves on the exterior. Entire renovation on the interior: electrical, plumbing, flooring, insulation, drywall, paint and trim.
Your supervisor has asked you to assist with the task of performing a risk assessment to identify, assess and control the hazards related to the job. You will need to assess the tasks related to deconstruction, working at heights, mobile equipment and using tools.
Use the R/A/C/E theory, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations to perform the risk assessment. Yeel free to ask questions to ensure you cover everything.
You will use the blank Pre-Task Planning (PTP) form found in the Risk Assessment tab in Course Documents. There are some sample hazard assessments in Course Documents for you to use to understand the format required.

1. Week 7 in Course Documents gives you all the references you need to perform a hazard assessment
2. Use the documents to Identify the hazards related to each task and list all control measures for the hazard. Start with most effective (At the Source) then (Along the Path) and last (At the Worker)
3. Use the Act and Regulations to find control measures.
