SITUATION

Assume that you have taken on a job as Receiver / Shipper Manager. You are responsible for managing a team of 5 workers: 2 "shippers" (Tom and Barb) / 2 "receivers" (Jim and Brad) / 1 "floater" (Alice) who works with whichever of the other pairs is in need of help. You have been on the job for 1 month. Your Observations to this point are as follows:

1. You're very concerned with these workers' attitudes. EXCEPT that Brad seems to be really intense about doing a good job (you've overheard others complaining that Brad is trying to be "teacher's pet"). In fact, in this group of 5 you do see Brad as a "star" based on his performance AND you tend to respond positively to his outstanding efforts..
