Assignment:

Connecting the anecdotal to scientific knowledge and inquiry

In Section 6.3 and 6.4 we learned about inequities in accessing and experiencing nature and the experiences and responses to nature from people with varied cultural backgrounds. The videos we watched in class also touched on these topics. We have also discussed in multiple lectures how the "one-size-fits-all" mentality is not realistic because different people have different preferences, needs, and opportunities for nature engagement.

For this journal entry, reflect on your own experiences with nature growing up and also now as an adult. Do your experiences reflect or resist what may be considered the mainstream way to engage with nature? This is an open-ended response. Share your views freely based on your personal experience and create a discourse with your peers.
