Individual application of Ecological Model to your profession
1. Describe what you want to do in your future profession and what kind of people you see yourself working with. If you are not sure what you want to do, choose the most likely profession.
2. Discuss the main level of the Ecological Model (intrapersonal, interpersonal, community/institutional, or policy level) you see yourself working under and describe the types of strategies you would use at that level and other strategies professionals in your field use
For the remaining levels, for each level discuss:
a) Strategies that would support the work that you are doing with your patient/client/community member (what you would do yourself or where you would refer people to for that service or program or intervention). Be specific, not just general phrases or descriptions.
b) Ways that people in your profession are involved in supporting strategies at that level. These could be actually implementing these strategies, serving on committees, steering groups, advisory groups, and other roles.
c) Support these statements with references from articles from your professional websites or publications or interviews with professionals in your field (not a family member)
