Create your own hypothetical scenario where you are in a dual relationship. This dual relationship should be either as a teacher-practitioner, clinician-practitioner, or as a sport psychology professional.

Make your scenario as complex or simple as you choose.

Discuss the issues related to the fictional scenario you create.

Define your role(s) in the situation, problems, obstacles, and a way to either make the dual-role situation work or a plan to work only in one capacity.Justify your choices and actions.

Wearing Multiple Hats

Sport psychology professionals (SPPs) often find themselves interacting with clients in different capacities, whether it is as a professor, a clinician, or a coach. SPPs also find themselves coexisting with clients in nonworking environments, such as traveling with teams, sharing living space, and in social arenas. The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with an opportunity to examine the complexities involved in placing yourself in situations where you have to wear multiple hats and learn to work and maneuver around professional and social settings. Sport psychology puts you into an environment where you often find yourself flip-flopping between professional counseling in an official setting (office) and counseling in a nontraditional setting (talking in the bleachers).
